Hello Software Architecture and Design!
Hello everybody, I'm happy to greet my CS acquaintances once again this semester, but also anybody that might end up reading this.
My Name is Valentín and I am a CS student at Tecnológico de Monterrey. This is my personal blog for the Software Design and Architecture course. I am very curious for this course as in my previous job experiences I as mentored directly by a software Architect. Well I don´t for sure know if he was specialized on the concepts that we will see through this course, but the man never failed to impress me with his knowledge of the many platforms and tools on which the business' software lived and breathed. He made calls on how data types from a program written on a remote JS server would slow a very distant client we intended to write. From what I've learnt through the first day of this course seems like an architect is very aware of the pros and cons of each tool that can be used to write a component and should be able to easily spot possible vulnerabilities or weaknesses in designs for tools and services that consisted in several layers of software and physical infrastructure.
As for myself I have several personal interests, I am a big fan of many genres of music. I have several years of experience on the piano, and I nearly became a pianist at the national conservatory when I had to choose what to do with my life. I have recently purchased an Ukulele and I have been spending a lot of time lately just strumming the thing and pretending I know how to sing.
I am a big fan of video games, specially strategy games such as Europa Universallis, Stellaris, CK2, LoL, Chess among others.
